    Brandon PTA announcements for the week October 28, 2013

    Thanks to generous Brandon families and matching corporate donations, we have now raised $8,900 from the Invest in Your Islander Campaign. This money will go straight to enriching the school experiences of our children. However, it is not enough money to sustain the specialists, programs and curriculum enhancement supported by the PTA. In order to meet our goal of $40,000, a second PTA fundraiser will be necessary. The Brandon Jog-a-thon is coming next month. We hope your support of this fundraiser will get us closer to our goal for this year.

    This Tuesday, October 29th, 11:00 am to 10:00 pm
    Help support Brandon School in this PTA sponsored event by dining in OR getting “to-go” food at the Hollister Brewing Company on Tuesday, October 29th from 11:00 am. – 10:00 pm. Fliers were sent home in Friday Folders and an electronic copy is attached to this email. Bring the flyer with you and 20% of your bill (before tax and tip) will go to the Brandon PTA.

    FALL PARADE – This Thursday, October 31st at 10:45 am
    The Fall Parade is this Thursday, October 31st at 10:45 am. The Dos Pueblos Band will be leading the parade through the neighborhood. Come find a spot on the route to watch the parade and enjoy the costumes.
    Students may wear costumes to school for the parade. After the parade, they will change into school clothes. Remember all costumes need to be school appropriate. Please see the flyer that went home in Friday Folders for costume guidelines and parade route. Only students and staff can walk in the parade. Please remember if you plan on staying on campus after the parade, you need to sign in at the office and get a visitor’s badge.

    Its time for the Reflections Art Program. This year’s theme is “Believe, Dream, Inspire.” Students can create a new, original piece of artwork inspired by the theme in one of six categories: dance choreography, film production, literature, musical composition, photography and visual arts.
    In the past Brandon Elementary has always had a contest winner! We hope to achieve that again. With parent and teacher participation we can Believe, Dream, and Inspire to do it again.

    There will be a gallery show and reception for all participants in November.
