    BRANDON FALL BOOK FAIR – Monday, September 16th – Friday, September 20th – MPR
    Come visit the Fall Book Fair in the MPR – “A Cool Place to Discover Hot Books” and support our wonderful Brandon Library!
    The Book Fair is open:
    Monday – Friday Mornings 7:30-8:15 am
    Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday Afternoons 2:45-3:30 pm
    Thursday Afternoon 1:30-2:30 pm
    And, during the Back To School Taco Party on September 19th from 5:00-7:00 pm
    Please consider volunteering to help make the Book Fair a success!
    We are in urgent need of volunteers on Thursday from 5:00-7:00 pm during the Back To School Taco Party.

    PTA BACK TO SCHOOL TACO PARTY – Thursday, September 19th – 5:00-7:00 pm
    Celebrate the new school year, catch-up with old friends and meet some new ones at the Back to School Taco Party on Thursday, September 19th from 5:00-7:00 pm. Dinner includes 3 mini tacos — choices of chicken, beef, pork or rajas (cheese & peppers), chips and salsa bar, rice and beans. $6 per plate. Water will be available for purchase for $1. First come, first served.
    While at the party:


    • Make your contribution to the Invest in your Islander Campaign
    • Join the PTA
    • Provide your Directory information
    • Go to the Book Fair
    • Check out the Band Demo!



    Band Demo – Thursday, September 19th from 5:30-6:30 pm (during Back To School Taco Party)
    Are you a 4th, 5th, or 6th grader and interested in learning the flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, or percussion drums? Lessons start at Brandon around the second week of October, and include the opportunity to play in the combined Brandon/Ellwood School Band.
    Not sure of what instrument you’d like to play? Come to the band demo at the Back to School Taco Party on Thursday, September 19th from 5:30-6:30 pm. Students can try out instruments and questions about the program will be answered. Cost of program is contingent on number of students enrolled.     Branch Out with Brandon PTA!
    Membership envelopes were sent home in Friday Folders and are also available in the school office. Memberships are $6 per person and include the very useful Brandon Directory. The whole family can join — both parents and children!

    If you still have your Brandon Directory form, please complete and return it to the school office as soon as possible.

    Please remember to save your Box Tops for our Fall Collection. For each Box Top collected, Brandon School receives 10 cents. Box Tops will be collected from classrooms on October 18th.

    61st ANNUAL BREAKFAST WITH THE AUTHORS – Saturday, October 5th, 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
    Come celebrate the 61st Annual Breakfast with the Authors to be held at the County Education Office Auditorium on Saturday, October 5th from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. This unique Santa Barbara literary event will feature a three-member panel discussion to address how the Common Core Standards will impact children¹s literature. The program also includes an open mic forum, authors’ comments, and the chance to purchase personally autographed books.     Registration is required (deadline Sept. 26th). Tickets are $16 and include a delicious catered brunch. Students 12 and older are welcome to attend at a reduced ticket price of $10 each.

    Information regarding Brandon Elementary School’s after-school enrichment classes is provided as a service to families of students at Brandon Elementary School. The Brandon PTA is neither sponsoring nor endorsing the enrichment classes or the agencies/businesses providing the classes.

    Duration: 10 weeks (October to December), 12 students max
    To register, fill out form sent home in Friday Folders; turn in the form & payment to the office.
    Cost: $125 for 10 classes, Scholarships available.
